Keyboard case? [03 May 2010|12:48pm]

vichan
Maybe it's a common enough synth that someone else will have run into this issue.

Anyone have any recommendations for a travel case for the Moog Realistic SG-1? At this point I'm looking for anything, cloth or hard. I figure it might fit into some bags made for pedal boards, but quite a few of those cases don't show interior measurements online.

I’ve been hanging out with Steve Jones - he knows EVERY analogue synth (literally) inside-out…he’s Australia’s most respected vintage synthesizer technician!

I have been following Steve around his workshop with a video camera and have put together a few little videos. In this video Steve talks about the common problems of the Korg PolySix.

Key bass recs? [25 Jan 2009|11:03am]

vichan
So I play key bass in a band. The keyboard, a Yamaha PSS-460, belongs to our drummer, who recently quit. We found a new drummer, and our old drummer is going to eventually want his keyboard back. That's okay, though: the Yamaha I play on is not terrific; some notes just get lost, others pierce through a bit too much even when recording. Our working theory is that it's because it's cheap digital keyboard and certain frequencies are harsher/softer than others.

Long story short: I'm going to be searching the market soon for a decent keyboard that gives me a good bass sound.

Ideally, I'm after a Farfisa, but coming across one of the few that have a good bass sound (let alone a Farfisa in general) is pure luck because people tend to hang on to those and usually aren't interested in giving them up. So I'm going to be broadening my market. I'm shooting for something analog.

Do you guys have any recommendations?

A question concerning the Roland Juno 106... [17 Jun 2007|10:26am]

[ mood | frustrated ]

So I've had this keyboard for some ten years, and I lent it to a friend several months ago. I recently asked for it back and it turns out that he lost the power supply cable. I am super bummed because when I first got it I had to fork out too much money for a very bad replacement. I'm wondering if there is anywhere I can find a relatively cheap power cable. I can't seem to find any! Help!

Digital Performer / Yamaha S90 / Macintosh [21 Oct 2006|05:36pm]

gixo
hello everyone.

I haven't posted much on here, but I am getting desperate for answers, so hopefully somone can help me with my problem.

I am running Digital Performer version 4.5.2 on my Mac.
(my Mac = desktop single processor 400 MHz G4 with 640 MB SDRAM and 20 GB of memory capacity)
I am also running Mac OS 10.3.9

I have a Yamaha S90 synth hooked up to my Mac via direct high-speed USB cable. On the Yamaha S90, it has a USB output that allows for MIDI connection directly via USB cable. I have my USB cable plugged into a USB hub (4 port hub).

OK.

So when I'm recording MIDI tracks, I am able to record onto every MIDI track that I create. No problems there.

BUT, when I play back what I've just recorded, I'm ONLY able to hear what's been recorded onto track 1. When I de-select track 1, and select ANOTHER midi track, I cannot hear anything during playback, even though I can see the midi data recorded in the track window.

I have a small BOSS keyboard amp (maybe 4" speaker) as an output from my S90, via 1/4" cable.

All my equipment seems to be working fine (gear isn't dated enough to where it doesn't work.... y'know?). I believe this to be a problem of my lack of knowledge on selecting output somewhere on Digital Performer, or possibly even through my Audio Midi Setup (I have my Audio Midi setup set to where it transmits and receives -- both -- 16 channels.... is this correct?)

Anyway, I hope I'm explaining myself well enough.
Thank you for any and all responses with this.... I appreciate it.

-Jackson

Hello keyboard fans,

I bought a Hohner Symphonic 30N a few years back. It's made in Germany. I'd post a pic but I don't have a digicam with me.

I recently lost the plug for it and have no idea where to look for a new one. Ideas on where I could order one from or how to come up with a makeshift adapter?

Thanks in advance.
